About the Artist

With a background in graphic design and a lifelong passion for art and color, Debbie Giachini has always loved jewelry.
In 2009, she studied metalsmithing at Penland and began working with found objects to create whimsical one-of-a-kind pieces. Later, she discovered quilling, the process of making tiny, exact folds in paper to create pieces that are lightweight, yet surprisingly durable. The quilling process led her to explore weaving recycled paper strips.
Today, she is using all these skills, plus her pasta-maker machine, to create the necklaces, bracelets and earrings in her latest collection.
